It took me literally six months to get out and take a Yoga Class. I have been dying to go but my comfort zone was a little bit nervous. I have worked very hard on letting go of my comfort zone so I finally went out and took the class this morning (with some credit to some of my awesome followers pushing me to do it!)
I decided to take a class at a local place called, The Zen Zone. I cannot rave enough about my experience. I took a beginners class but was surprised to see and hear that some love the class so much they just keep coming. The room was full of newbies and experienced yogi's and no one made me feel uncomfortable for coming. The instructor, who also owns the studio, was amazing, I loved how she worked with the class and made sure everyone was comfortable in every way. She said so many things that really hit home with me and the only reason I could have left upset was for being stupid for not going months ago!
I knew most of the poses that we did thanks to some home training but she did help me on a few that I wasn't doing exactly right. I loved her for this and took her advice to heart. I literally walked out of the studio feeling amazing and beyond refreshed. (I also did a 6 mile run before coming and it helped relax and comfort my body!)
I am not sure what the next class I will take but I know I will be going again and again!
What was your first experience with yoga and do you still practice today?
